Why we do not advise it in town
Marrakech traffic mixes cars, two-wheelers, carts and pedestrians, with undisciplined roundabouts. In an accident without clear insurance, you pay. In the medina many lanes are narrow and closed to vehicles. To get around, a metered petit taxi is simpler: see getting around Marrakech.
If you rent anyway
Choose an established firm, photograph the scooter before leaving, read the contract and deposit, check the helmet is supplied and that your licence covers the engine size. Do not ride at night away from the main roads. For a car, see car rental in Marrakech.
Safer alternatives
For the fun of riding, a guided quad in the Marrakech Palmeraie or at Agafay gives the thrill without the traffic: compare in quad and buggy in Marrakech.
Which option to choose?
- Getting around town: metered petit taxi.
