November weather: mild by day, cool at night

| Normal (1991-2020) | November in Marrakech |

Sources: NOAA normals for the Marrakech-Menara station for temperatures and rain; sunshine from the weather-and-climate.com averages. Days remain pleasant for walking, but the gap with the night is clear: riads, built around an open patio, can be chilly in the evening. Rain, more frequent than in October, mostly falls in showers: keep some indoor ideas handy from our guide what to do in Marrakech when it rains.
Crowds and prices in November
November is a transition month: after the All Saints holidays, which end on Monday 2 November in France, numbers fall, then rise again during film festival week, especially for hotels in the Hivernage around the Palais des Congrès. Outside that week, medina riads are more affordable than during the end-of-year holidays. If your dates are flexible, avoid 20 to 28 November for lower prices, or choose them precisely for the festival atmosphere. Our guide to where to stay in Marrakech compares the neighborhoods.
Events in November 2026
Marrakech International Film Festival: 20 to 28 November
The Marrakech International Film Festival holds its 23rd edition from 20 to 28 November 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in the Hivernage. Screenings are free and open to everyone while seats last; the program is published in early November on the festival's official website. The festival page details the venues and how the screenings work. Arrive early for the most anticipated films.
Green March: Friday 6 November
The Green March holiday, a national public holiday, falls on Friday 6 November: banks and government offices close, with flags and official ceremonies in the city. Monuments and souks generally stay open.
Independence Day: Wednesday 18 November
Independence Day, also a public holiday, falls on Wednesday 18 November. It hardly affects a visit, apart from the closing of banks and government offices. Our calendar of events in Marrakech lists the other dates of the year.
What to wear in November

- A windbreaker or small raincoat for showers.
- Closed shoes that cope with wet paving stones.
- Sunglasses and sunscreen: the sun is still bright.
- A scarf for evenings, the desert and the mountains. See what to wear in Marrakech.
The best things to do in November
- The gardens: the Majorelle Garden is pleasant in the soft light, open from 8 am.
- The museums: the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the other places in our guide to the museums of Marrakech for rainy days.
- The hammam: a great option when the evening cools, see the guide to the hammam in Marrakech.
- The medina on foot: the souks and the Bahia Palace can be visited without the summer heat.
Day trips in November

- The Ourika Valley and Imlil: hikes in beautiful light; bring a warm layer, evenings at altitude are cool. Check the weather: if it rains, move away from the riverbed.
- Essaouira: about 190 km and 3 hours by bus; the sea air is cooler than in Marrakech.
- The Agafay desert: sunset and a night in a camp, with warm clothes for the evening.
