Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech: tickets, opening hours and visit

Updated on October 1, 2026

Opened in October 2017 on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, a few meters from the Jardin Majorelle, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech is devoted to the work of the couturier, who discovered Marrakech in 1966 and returned regularly. The building, designed by the Studio KO agency (Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier), assembles cubic volumes clad in a terracotta brick facade. Covering about 4,000 m², it includes a 400 m² permanent exhibition hall, a temporary exhibition hall, a 140-seat auditorium, a research library of more than 5,000 volumes, a bookshop and a café. The permanent exhibition presents around fifty designs arranged by theme, such as black, Africa and Morocco, gardens or art; the pieces are rotated regularly for conservation reasons.

From the street, the museum looks like an assemblage of cubes covered in a "lace of bricks", in the museum's own words. The raised rows of bricks draw patterns that change with the daylight. Inside, by contrast, the atmosphere is smooth and luminous.

The street serving the museum and the Jardin Majorelle bears the name of the couturier (1936-2008), on a plaque in Arabic and French. It recalls Yves Saint Laurent's bond with the city, where he designed part of his collections. The museum's galleries also explore Morocco's influence on his work.
