Chez Ali Fantasia in Marrakesh: Dinner Show with Horsemen, Prices and Programme

Updated on October 8, 2026

Chez Ali is the best-known dinner show in Marrakesh. Set in the Palmeraie, north of the medina, the site can seat up to 6,000 guests under large traditional tents (khaimas) arranged around an esplanade. You eat Moroccan food to live music, and the evening ends with the fantasia: horsemen gallop their horses and fire their muskets all at once, followed by dancers, acrobats and fireworks. It is very touristy, but spectacular, and it is usually booked with a hotel transfer.

Highlights

The entrance and the tents

The entrance and the tents

The decorated gate, with its red sign lit up at night, opens onto a courtyard lined with khaimas where you sit down for dinner. Regional groups play during the meal, with dancers, drummers and street acts from several parts of Morocco.

The fantasia

The fantasia

The high point of the evening: riders in traditional dress line up, charge at a gallop and fire their guns in one volley, in a cloud of smoke. This warrior tradition of Morocco's tribes is normally performed at moussems (religious festivals); here it is staged as a show, with acrobatics on horseback and dances at the end.

Practical info

Tips

Prices vary by seller and package: expect about 450 to 600 DH per person for dinner, the show and soft drinks, with a choice of mechoui (lamb) or tagine, and pricier VIP options. With several sellers, children aged 0 to 4 go free and those aged 5 to 10 pay half price (seen in October 2026; check when you book, as the official site shows no clear price list). The round-trip transfer from the medina or your hotel is often included. Arrive at dinner time to get a good table, as the show does not start at the same time with every seller. The menu is fixed: Moroccan salads, harira, a meat dish, couscous, pastries and mint tea. Vegetarians should say so when booking. Bring a jacket in winter: the show is outdoors.

How to get there

The venue is in the Palmeraie, outside the centre: in practice you book a package with a minibus transfer from your hotel or riad, and the return trip is provided after the show. Without a transfer, take a grand taxi and agree on the return in advance, as taxis are scarce there after midnight.

Opening hours

Best: In the evening, March to June
Every evening, about 19:00-midnight; dinner around 20:00 and fantasia around 21:30 (times given by sellers in October 2026, to be confirmed when booking); the evening lasts about 4 hours including the transfer
