Marrakech railway station, the southern terminus of the ONCF network, is in Guéliz on Avenue Hassan II, on the edge of Hivernage. Its building, opened in 2008, is easy to spot thanks to its large arched façade. It handles trains to Casablanca, Rabat, Fès and Tangier; Supratours coaches leave right next door and CTM coaches right opposite. The station is about ten minutes by petit taxi from Jemaa el-Fna square.
Highlights

The façade
The 2008 building echoes the arches of Moroccan architecture in a contemporary style. It is easy to spot from the avenue.

The hall and ticket counters
Here you find the ONCF ticket counters, cash machines, a currency exchange and cafés. Keep some small change for little purchases.

The platforms
Trains leave for Casablanca (about 2 h 40 to Casa-Voyageurs), Rabat, Fès and Tangier. Only one line leaves the city northwards.
The neighbouring coach stations
The Supratours station adjoins the railway station and the CTM station is on Rue Abou Bakr Seddik, opposite. These are the two companies to favour for Essaouira, Agadir or Ouarzazate.

Tips
Buy your ticket at the counter, or on the ONCF website or app (international cards accepted), never from a middleman in the street: the e-ticket shows on your phone. On the eve of Eid and at the end of Moroccan school holidays, book several days ahead. In front of the station, men offer to carry bags or call a taxi: this is not an ONCF service, so fix the price beforehand or decline. On leaving, prefer the metered petit taxi, or an app. The Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed line is under construction; opening is targeted for 2029, and works may occasionally disrupt timetables: check before you travel. For routes, durations and fares, see the guide to train and bus from Marrakech.
