The train, our recommendation

Trains leave from Marrakech station and arrive at Casa-Voyageurs. Buy your outbound and return tickets in advance at the ticket office, on the ONCF website or in its app, and check the last evening train. 1st class costs a little more and is worth it at peak times. The bus and the transfer

Buses leave from the Guéliz bus stations (CTM, Supratours), next to the railway station. We could not verify current times and prices: check the operators' official sites before choosing. A private transfer saves time if you are several people or carrying luggage; agree the price, pick-up point and drop-off point in writing. See also private driver in Marrakech by the day.

A day in Casablanca

For the Hassan II Mosque, take a morning train to arrive around 9:30 and aim for the 11:00 or 12:00 tour; from Casa-Voyageurs, a red petit taxi on the meter covers the 5 km in 15 to 20 minutes. Details, tour fee and dress code: Casablanca from Marrakech.

The Hassan II Mosque

Pitfalls

  • Holidays: book several days ahead the day before Eid.
  • Friday: fewer mosque tours, none at noon.
  • Middlemen: don't buy a ticket from a stranger in the street.
  • Transfer prices: a price quoted without vehicle or luggage specified may change; get it confirmed.

Which to choose?

  • A day trip or a one-way: direct train.
  • Late departure or full train: bus, after checking the time.
  • Group, luggage or airport arrival: private transfer on quote.
  • Another city: see Marrakech to Fes and day trips from Marrakech.
