Marrakech Comedy Festival (formerly Marrakech du Rire): Dates, Venues and Tickets

Updated on October 8, 2026

The Marrakech Comedy Festival is the big comedy event of Marrakesh. It follows the Marrakech du Rire, created by Jamel Debbouze and held from 2011 to 2024, but the comedian Malik Bentalha has described it as a new story with no link to the old festival. The first edition took place from 4 to 6 June 2026 at the Palais des Congrès: an Arabic-language gala on 4 June, hosted by the comedian Eko, then two French-language galas on 5 and 6 June, hosted by Malik Bentalha.

Highlights

The galas at the Palais des Congrès

All three evenings took place in the main hall of the Palais des Congrès, on Avenue de France. The Arabic-language gala on 4 June brought together Moroccan comedians including Zoubir Hilal, Saif Eddine Settif, Amine des Inqualifiables and Ghita Kitane. The French-language galas on 5 and 6 June were sold out, with Paul de Saint Sernin, Meryem Benoua and Léopold Lemarchand among others, plus the magician Sossam; they were announced for broadcast on Disney+.

A stroll around the Hivernage

The Palais des Congrès is in the Hivernage district, between Gueliz and the medina, among hotels, gardens and restaurants. Before or after the show, the district has plenty of places for dinner or a drink; several solo shows were also scheduled during the festival, such as those by Yassar and Nordine Ganso.

Tips

Tickets were sold on Guichet.ma for Morocco (in dirhams) and on the Fnac Spectacles and France Billet sites for Europe (in euros); sales usually open two to three months before the festival. The 2026 French-language galas sold out well before the event, so book as soon as sales open. No official price list could be confirmed: prices vary by seat category. The galas are in French or in Arabic (Moroccan dialect), so check the language of the gala before buying.

How to get there

The Palais des Congrès is on Avenue de France, in the Hivernage, about 10 minutes by taxi from the medina and 5 minutes from Gueliz and the Hivernage hotels. Take a petit taxi (ask for the meter) and plan your return: taxis are scarce when the galas end, so a ride booked in advance avoids the wait.
