On Avenue Mohammed V, a few minutes' walk from the Koutoubia and Jemaa el-Fna square, the Cyber Parc Arsat Moulay Abdeslam is a public garden of about 8 hectares, free to enter. It occupies a former arsat, an eighteenth-century princely orchard that Sultan Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah gave to his son, Prince Moulay Abdeslam. Restored from 2005 by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection with Maroc Telecom, the garden combines shaded paths, olive trees, orange trees, palms and pools with digital facilities installed during its renovation, including interactive kiosks and Wi-Fi access. It is popular with families, students and local walkers.
Highlights

The shaded paths
Wide paths of packed earth and brick cross the park beneath the trees, between clipped hedges and flower beds. They offer a shady break between the medina and Guéliz, away from the traffic of the avenue.

The agave beds and palms
Brick-edged beds hold agaves and plants suited to Marrakech's semi-arid climate. Tall palms tower over the beds. The red earth gives the park its color.

The esplanade and its fountains
At the center of the park, an esplanade brings together pools with water jets, lined with clipped trees and palms. The pools are lit at nightfall.
