Villa Oasis (Yves Saint Laurent) in Marrakech: Can You Visit It?
META: Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé's Villa Oasis in Marrakech: only its private garden can be visited, with a ticket, except on Wednesdays. Hours, tickets, access, what you see. Villa Oasis is Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé's Marrakech home, a stone's throw from the Majorelle Garden on Rue Yves Saint Laurent in Guéliz. The couple bought it in 1980 together with the neighbouring Majorelle Garden. The house has remained a private residence: it cannot be visited like a museum. What is open to the public is its private garden, a quieter extension of the Majorelle Garden.
Highlights

The villa's private garden
A garden of palms, bamboo and climbing plants, calmer than the Majorelle Garden. The photo shows the neighbouring Majorelle Garden, of which the villa is an extension: the paths and planting are similar.

The memorial rose garden
Yves Saint Laurent's ashes were scattered in the villa's rose garden in 2008. A memorial pays tribute to him in the nearby Majorelle Garden (photo: pools of the Majorelle Garden).

Tips
Tickets are sold online on the official ticket office of the Fondation Jardin Majorelle, for a set date and time slot, and nowhere else: beware of resellers and fake sites. The Majorelle Garden alone costs 170 MAD; the price of the Villa Oasis private garden, and whether it is included in the Majorelle Garden ticket, are shown when you book, so read the ticket details before paying. The inside of the villa is not open to ordinary visits; ask the foundation directly about any private visit. For context, see the Majorelle Garden, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts.
How to get there
Rue Yves Saint Laurent, Guéliz, Marrakech, right next to the Majorelle Garden, about 3 km north-west of Jemaa el-Fna square. Taxi: ask for "Jardin Majorelle"; a metered petit taxi takes 10 to 15 minutes from the medina. For the way back, hail a metered taxi in the street or in Guéliz.
