On the same street: four visits

- The Majorelle Garden, its blue and its cacti; online ticket compulsory.
- The Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts, in the painter's former studio, in the heart of the garden.
- The Yves Saint Laurent Museum, a building of pinkish brick with the designer's creations and temporary exhibitions.
- The private garden of Villa Oasis, where the inside of the house is not visited.
Book ahead on the official ticket office of the Fondation Jardin Majorelle, which also sells combined tickets. Allow half a day if you do all four.
A break in Guéliz
For lunch or a snack, see our guide where to eat near the Majorelle Garden.
The central market and the shopping streets
The Guéliz central market is the neighbourhood market of the new town: fruit, vegetables, spices, fish, with a calmer atmosphere than the souks. Avenue Mohammed V and its side streets line up shops, cafés and bookshops. The Church of the Holy Martyrs, in the district, dates from the protectorate era; see our page on the Church of the Holy Martyrs.
Parks and greenery
The Cyber Parc Arsat Moulay Abdeslam, between Guéliz and the Koutoubia, is a shaded park for a quiet break on the way to the medina; allow a taxi or a fairly long walk. For the district as a whole, read Guéliz and Hivernage.
Getting around
Between the medina and the Majorelle Garden, the metered petit taxi is the simplest: ask for "Jardin Majorelle". For the meter rules, see getting around Marrakech. In Guéliz the pavements are decent but crossing the big avenues takes care.
A half-day itinerary
Arrive at opening time at the Majorelle Garden, continue with the Pierre Bergé Museum and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, have lunch in Guéliz, then stop by the central market before taking a taxi back to the medina.
Going further
To choose between the Majorelle Garden and the medina's Jardin Secret, read Majorelle Garden or Jardin Secret; for other gardens, see the gardens of Marrakech.
