The route day by day
- Day 1: Agadir to the Dades valley. Early departure from Agadir, road through the Anti-Atlas (Taroudant, Taliouine, Taznakht depending on the operator), stop at Ait Ben Haddou, then a night in a Dades or Todra valley.
- Day 2: gorges and dunes. Todra Gorge in the morning, drive to Merzouga, camel ride at sunset to the camp, dinner and a night in a tent.
- Day 3: sunrise, then Marrakech. Early return, a long day on the road and arrival in Marrakech late afternoon or evening. Whether you cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass again depends on the operator.
The route is the same as in our Marrakech – Merzouga 3-day comparison, in the opposite direction: read it for details on camps and meals.
Choosing your offer
- One-way Agadir – Marrakech: the offer rated 4.6 from 249 reviews. It saves you going back to Agadir and leaves you in Marrakech for the rest of your trip.
- Return to Agadir: if you are staying in Agadir, the "3-Day Merzouga Desert Adventure" listing (4.7) is made for that, but confirm the drop-off point.
- Private: best for a couple, a family or if you want to set the stops. We have no private offer to recommend here: ask a local agency for a quote.
What is not always included
- Lunches and drinks; budget about €10 to 13 per meal in the desert.
- Local guide at Ait Ben Haddou, quad, buggy, 4x4 transfer to a luxury camp, air-conditioned tent, tips.
- Three heavy days: 9 to 10 hours of driving a day on the last two legs. Plan nothing for the evening you reach Marrakech.
- Dates, pick-up times in Agadir and the drop-off point in Marrakech differ from one listing to another.
What if three days is too much?

When to go
Summer is very hot in the desert (an air-conditioned tent may then be worth the extra), winter brings cold nights. Book a few days ahead in high season and read each listing's cancellation terms.
