Crowds and prices in September

September is a transition month: the heat recedes, medina riad prices stay moderate and visitor numbers gradually climb toward autumn. Operation Marhaba, which welcomes Moroccans living abroad, ended on 15 September in 2026, marking the end of the summer return period on the roads. Book tickets for popular sites such as the Majorelle Garden, open from 8 am, and see our guide to tickets and opening hours for Marrakech monuments.

The September event: Oasis festival in Agafay

The Oasis festival, devoted to electronic music, took a break in 2025 and then announced its return in September 2026, as a multi-day camp in the Agafay desert, with packages combining entry and tent accommodation. The sources consulted do not agree on the exact dates, so check them on the festival's official website. No 2027 edition has been announced so far.

No national public holiday falls in September.

  • Essaouira: about 190 km away, 3 hours by bus, with average highs of 22.6°C in September.
