The highlight: Agafay, quad and dinner
The Agafay desert is a stretch of stony hills about an hour from the medina, far from the Sahara dunes but very practical for an evening. The most booked listing, Agafay: quad, camel, dinner and show, lasts about seven hours with transport from your hotel. Groups gain a shared dinner and a show, without having to organise the late return. Compare the options (quad only, camel, buggy, pool) in our Agafay evening comparison. What to wear: quad in Marrakech, what to wear.
Relaxing: hammam and pool
A hammam with scrub and massage is the group favourite, especially the morning after a night out. Group offers often include the transfer; the guide to the Marrakech hammam explains the etiquette (swimsuit, glove, duration) and hammam, which offer compares the formulas. For the pool, see the day passes: the simplest option for a group is to book ahead, as places are limited.
The morning after: balloon or horse
The hot-air balloon flight leaves very early, with pickup before sunrise: put it on the day with the fewest late nights, or skip it. If the group prefers to stay on the ground, the horse ride in the Palmeraie starts later.
Rules to know before you go
- Alcohol: allowed in licensed bars, restaurants and hotels, forbidden in the street and public places. Details in alcohol in Marrakech.
- Drugs: cannabis is illegal and penalties are heavy; read drug laws in Morocco.
- Dress and behaviour: thighs and shoulders covered in the medina; no provocative costumes in the street. See what to wear in Marrakech.
- Photos: do not photograph passers-by without permission (photo rules).
- Night: go home as a group and by petit taxi, never alone; see getting home at night.
Budget and booking
Day offers are shown as "from" a few dozen euros per person; the final price depends on the date, group size and options. Book the evening highlight at least a week ahead for a group of more than eight. For the whole trip, our Marrakech travel budget details each cost.
