We could not reliably read the prices or reviews of these listings in October 2026: compare them on the booking page. Entry prices come from our pages on the Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Secret Garden.

Entry fees, site by site

  • Bahia Palace: 100 MAD for a foreign adult, open daily 9am to 5pm. The Ministry of Culture's online ticket office sells the same ticket with a time slot, at the same price as the ticket window.
  • Ben Youssef Madrasa: 50 MAD, open daily 9am to 7pm, ticket bought on site.
  • Secret Garden: 100 MAD (80 MAD up to age 24), plus 40 MAD to climb the tower; open 9:30am to 6pm from October to February.

Our guide to monument tickets and opening hours in Marrakech covers the other sites.

Going on your own: what it takes

All three sites are in the medina, but allow for the walking: the Bahia is south, the madrasa and the Secret Garden north of Jemaa el-Fna square. Bring cash dirhams. In the lanes, people sometimes claim a monument is closed to steer you to a shop: check at the entrance. For the Bahia neighbourhood, see what's around the palace.

Why take a guide

Most Bahia rooms are empty of furniture: without explanation you mostly see ceilings and zellige. A guide gives context (the viziers, madrasa life) and a direct route. To compare palaces, read Bahia, El Badi or Dar Si Said; for a licensed guide, see guided tours of Marrakech with an official guide.

What to check before booking

  • The state of the Bahia Palace: restoration work after the 2023 earthquake is under way (about 30% complete in September 2025 according to the Moroccan press), and a traveller reported in 2026 that many areas were inaccessible. We found no announcement of a full closure: ask the operator what the visit includes.
  • Whether entry fees are included: if not, add them to your budget.
  • The meeting point, the guide's language and the group size.
  • The cancellation policy.

Which option to choose?
