Grand Prix Hassan II: clay-court tennis
The Grand Prix Hassan II is a men's ATP Tour tournament, in the ATP 250 category, played outdoors on clay at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech. The 40th edition took place from 30 March to 5 April 2026, with the singles final on Sunday 5 April at 2 p.m. It is the only ATP Tour event in Africa. The tournament began in 1984 as a Challenger event and has been part of the ATP Tour since 1990.
In 2026, admission was entirely free all week, so you could watch top-ranked players without a ticket. The dates of the 41st edition, in 2027, are not published yet: the tournament is usually played in late March or early April. Check the tournament's official website before booking. To fit these weeks into your stay, see Marrakech in March and Marrakech in April.
The Marrakech international marathon
The marathon and half marathon are run in January, on a route that follows the medina walls and passes near the Koutoubia. The 37th edition is planned for Sunday 31 January 2027, with the marathon starting at 7:45 a.m. and the half marathon at 9:15 a.m., according to the organisers. For spectators the event is free: stand along the city walls. The full practical page, with entry fees and bib collection, is in the Marrakech international marathon. The streets on the route are closed to traffic in the morning, so plan your journeys accordingly, and book early, as the city is in high demand that weekend.

Marrakech Air Show: a trade fair, not an air display
The 8th Marrakech Air Show runs from 7 to 10 October 2026 at the Marrakech military air base, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. It brings together nearly 200 exhibitors from 27 countries, with a static display, flying demonstrations and conferences. It is above all a professional and institutional event, with official delegations, and not an air show open to the general public: do not expect a tourist ticket office. Its effect on you is mostly indirect: part of the big hotels is occupied that week. See also Marrakech in October.

Football and golf, all year
Football is played from September to May: see our guide to watching a football match in Marrakech, with El Harti stadium and the closure of the Grand Stade. Golf can be played all year: the Royal Golf and the other courses have their own page.
Practical tips
- Book accommodation early for the marathon and for the first week of October.
- Check dates on the official websites: they change from year to year, and the 2027 tennis dates are not published.
- Avoid driving on the morning of the marathon; the Marrakech events calendar lists the year's other events.
- Beware of fake tickets: buy only through each event's official channels.
